Subject United Report of 2010 Business in People and Employment Areas
We will back up the people by 'creating jobs.'

In the morning of December 14, MOGE made 2010 MOGE Business Report containing 'Women's Policy Implementation Plan for the Harmony of Work and Family' at Seoul Women Plaza.

In the report, MOGE suggested 'A Society Where Work and Family is Harmonious and Children and Women are Safe' as policy target for 2010. Its practical tasks are increase of women's economic participation, harmony of work and family, and protection of human rights for children and women based on gender perspective policy and enhancement of women representativeness.

At first, MOGE will focus on the enlargement of women jobs to improve employment environment under the economic crisis and to initiate earlier recovery of Korean economy.

Starting the 1st business year of 'Basic Plan to Promote the Economic Activity of Career-interrupted Women,' MOGE will support many women to participate in the government supported job business utilizing job related consultation or coordination system. It will also positively create jobs for handicapped women, refugees from North Korea or marriage immigrant women who can not easily get jobs under the normal job policy.

Also, customized recruiting service will be provided in accordance with different cases. Through the 'New Occupation Center for Women' which provides one-stop recruiting service from counselling, vocational training, linkage to employment and afterwards support for the career interrupted women who had quitted job due to childcare or household affairs, MOGE will introduce jobs for 46,000 career interrupted women, provide job experience to 4,600 housewives through housewife intern system. It will diversify vocational training to 230 different courses including green jobs and provide training to 5,800 people annually.

Also, for those women living in the place where 'New Occupation Center for Women' is not established yet, 'Broad Area New Occupation Center for Women' will be newly designated and employment support service such as the construction of on-line employment coaching system will be added.

For the young women who need career management and leadership development, college-women career development centers will be designated in 30 colleges. Through women public portal site of 'women-net (www.women.go.kr),' 900 mentoring couples will be supported.

MOGE will initiate the change of working culture from 'work focused' to 'harmony of work and life' to enhance the quality of life for the nation and to increase birth rate.

To construct women friendly working environment, MOGE will initiate the introduction of flexitime (purple job) so that the workers can control working time and conditions based on their personal situation.

For this, MOGE will test operate 'part time official system' early next year and will extend to other public areas in cooperation with Ministry of Public Administration and Security.

Also, MOGE will develop flexitime model based on the occupation category and size, and prepare manual on personnel and labor management to support diffusion of flexitime to the private companies. For this, MOGE will develop or improve regulations or systems which can hinder the introduction of flexitime in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor and form a task force with related organizations.

To release women's burden on household affairs and childcare at home, MOGE will implement campaign in cooperation with women civic group to encourage all family members' participation in household affairs and childcare. MOGE will diffuse gender equal life culture through strengthening gender equality education including remote training on teachers.
